You know the moment.
After a longer break, you tell yourself it’s time to start. To run again. Get back to the gym. Play tennis. Head for the mountains. Or simply start moving more.
The mind has made the decision.
Muscles catch up relatively quickly. Joints and cartilage, however, don’t play by the same rules.
And that is exactly the moment we created AVE Comeback! for.
Muscles and cartilage don’t play by the same rules
Muscle tissue has a good blood supply and responds relatively quickly to training. Articular cartilage has no blood vessels of its own, so its metabolism and renewal take place more slowly.
But that doesn’t mean cartilage is an unchanging component we are born with and simply wear down over time.
It is living tissue. Its cells continuously maintain and renew their surroundings – they just work on a much slower clock than muscles.
That is why, when formulating AVE Comeback!, we didn’t start with the question:
How many ingredients can we fit into a single serving?
We started differently:
What does the body need when it wants to return to movement?
Not all collagen is the same
We often talk about collagen as if it were a single substance. In reality, there are many types of collagen with different structures and roles.
For AVE Comeback!, we selected two.
Type I collagen is the most abundant collagen in the human body. It is found, for example, in the skin, tendons and bones.
Type II collagen is the dominant collagen in articular cartilage – the resilient tissue that covers the surfaces of bones where they meet in joints.
And this is where the story of two different marine ingredients in AVE Comeback! begins.
5,000 mg of hydrolysed Naticol® type I collagen
and
1,000 mg of native type II collagen from Abyss Ingredients.
Together, 6,000 mg of marine collagen in one daily serving.
And each has a different role.
5,000 mg Naticol®: hydrolysed type I collagen
Hydrolysed collagen is deliberately broken down into smaller fragments – collagen peptides.
They dissolve well, are easy to digest and, after digestion, provide the body with amino acids that it uses to make its own proteins, including collagen.
This is the principle behind the French marine collagen Naticol® in AVE Comeback!: it provides grams of collagen peptides and amino acids, with glycine and proline among the most prominent.
So, in simple terms, we can think of its role as building material.
That is also why we added another 1,000 mg of glycine. Glycine is the most abundant amino acid in collagen – it makes up approximately one-third of its amino acid structure.
But with AVE Comeback!, we didn’t stop at hydrolysed collagen.
1,000 mg of native type II collagen: the story of a fish without bones
Somewhere off the coast of Brittany swims a rather unusual fish.
It doesn’t have a skeleton made of bone.
Its skeleton is made of cartilage.
Rays and their relatives are cartilaginous fish. And their cartilage is a natural source of type II collagen – the type of collagen characteristic of articular cartilage.
The ingredient used in AVE Comeback! comes from the French company Abyss Ingredients, based in Caudan, Brittany. It processes cartilage from Raja spp. and Leucoraja naevus caught by local fishermen.
And there is another detail we consider important.
It is a by-product of fish processing for food. Rays are not caught specifically for AVE Comeback! – we use a part of fish that have already been caught and that would otherwise remain unused.
But origin is not the only difference.
What you do with the collagen during processing matters too.
Hydrolysed and native collagen: two different approaches
With Naticol®, the aim is to break long collagen molecules down into smaller peptides.
With the second collagen, we want exactly the opposite.
To preserve its natural structure.
The native type II collagen used in AVE Comeback! is not hydrolysed. The molecule therefore retains its original three-dimensional structure – its characteristic triple helix.
And here it is important to explain what collagen does not do.
The collagen you drink does not travel directly to your knee and become a new piece of cartilage.
The body makes its own collagen. Hydrolysed peptides and amino acids provide building blocks; with native collagen, a different biological mechanism associated with preserving the intact molecule is being studied.
That is why it makes little sense to compare these two collagens simply by looking at the number on the label.
Grams and milligrams do not mean the same thing here.
But cartilage is more than collagen
Think of articular cartilage as a mattress.
The collagen network forms its flexible framework.
Within that framework is an environment rich in water and glycosaminoglycans, helping cartilage withstand pressure and repeated loading.
That is why the cartilage ingredient derived from rays provides more than type II collagen. It naturally contains other components of cartilage tissue, including glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), chondroitin and glucosamine.
And these natural components of cartilage tissue are not found in fish skin or scales.
Two types of collagen. Two roles. No duplication.
Now the combination starts to make sense.
Naticol® type I provides 5,000 mg of hydrolysed collagen – peptides and amino acids as building material.
Native type II collagen comes from ray cartilage and retains its intact structure. Along with it, the ingredient naturally provides other components of cartilage – GAGs, chondroitin and glucosamine.
5,000 + 1,000 mg = 6,000 mg of marine collagen in one daily serving.
Not two collagens just to make the number bigger.
Two collagens because each brings something different.
Collagen is only the foundation
This is where most collagen products could end.
This is where we started.
We didn’t create AVE Comeback! to have the longest possible list of ingredients. Every ingredient has to have a reason for being in the formula, without unnecessarily duplicating the role of another.
That is why the two marine collagens are complemented by Cissus quadrangularis, Perilla frutescens, vitamin C, glycine and astaxanthin.
And this is where we arrive at what we call at AVE SALUS:
Brilliant Union
A brilliant union of premium collagen and rare botanical extracts.
Marine collagens form the foundation of the formula.
Cissus quadrangularis is a plant with a long tradition of use in Ayurvedic practice in connection with bones and connective tissues.
Perilla frutescens comes from the East Asian tradition and is a considerably less common botanical ingredient in European supplements.
Astaxanthin is a carotenoid derived from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis.
Glycine is one of the key amino acids found in collagen.
And vitamin C isn’t just another number on the label. It contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and bones.
All in one daily serving.
AVE Comeback! in one serving
Each stick contains:
5,000 mg hydrolysed Naticol® marine collagen
1,000 mg native marine type II collagen
1,000 mg glycine
800 mg Cissus quadrangularis
300 mg Perilla frutescens
400 mg vitamin C
4 mg astaxanthin
A delicate mango flavour. Sweetened with Monk fruit, a fruit with a zero glycaemic index.
Mix with 200–300 ml of water or juice.
Once a day.
One pack contains 49 daily servings = 7 weeks.
Why Comeback?
Because we didn’t create it for the abstract concept of “wellness”.
We created it for a specific moment.
When you want to come back.
To running after a long break.
To the tennis you used to play.
To the gym.
To cycling.
To the mountains.
To skiing.
Or simply to the movement you have started to miss.
Muscles can respond quickly. Cartilage and connective tissues work at a slower pace. And this difference was one of the ideas that gave rise to AVE Comeback!.
The mind has made the decision.
Now give the body time to catch up.
So, are you ready for a change?
If your mind has already made the decision, we’ll be happy to support you and accompany you on your 7-week Comeback.
Ave, friends.

TL;DR
AVE Comeback! was created for the moment when you want to get back to movement. It combines 5,000 mg of hydrolysed Naticol® type I marine collagen with 1,000 mg of native type II collagen from ray cartilage.
Two collagens, two different roles – complemented by glycine, Cissus quadrangularis, Perilla frutescens, vitamin C and astaxanthin.
A brilliant union of premium collagen and rare botanical extracts in one daily serving.
